NOVEMBER 14TH 2013Toronto ON-‐ VISO INC., the Canadian owned light design and manufacturing firm has created a masterpiece.CAPELLA. Sinuous and demanding as her name suggests, is a saucer shaped suspension light fixture. She is enigmatic, alert and independent and her top quality metalized polycarbonate exterior is available in black, white, copper and silver. Capella’s designer Filipe Lisboa explains where his inspiration came from. “The honeycomb diffuser was inspired directly from nature’s honeybees and the shape of the Capella complimented the diffuser and provided a good reflection of light”.The honeycomb diffuser is placed at the opening of the light, and not only hides the light bulbs from its viewer but also creates an original effect making this light a true VISO creation. Filipe described “what interested me was to create a diffuser with various comb-‐ like entities close together, which would diffuse the light source behind it in a soft and beautiful way”.There are two design sizes, 3 and 2 feet wide by approximately 1 foot high. A black metal canopy suspends both sizes 6 feet high and custom drops are also available. An LED version of Capella is available and makes this beautiful light slightly more customizable.About Filipe Lisboa
