Toronto ON-VISO INC., a local light designer and manufacturer gives you an inside look at the FUNKII, a new suspension light to be launched in February 2014.
FUNKII designer Filipe Lisboa found his inspiration in architecture while traveling. “The shadow play on buildings in some cities is impressing.” Lisboa shares. “This captivating activity is somewhat like watching clouds form into new shapes” Back to his drawing board; Lisboa turned these shadow memories into FUNKII, a structural contemporary light.
Entirely constructed in top quality ceramic, FUNKII has an intriguing shape. Its waffle like texture magnifies as it fans out towards the base of the light.
All white, the only splash of colour comes from the inside of the light, where the interior texture is metallized in copper, gold or silver. The light plays on a three-dimensional, colorful landscape that is the interior.
The FUNKII measures 12” wide by 20” in height. Customized FUNKII clusters are proposed to add dimension and interest. Custom drops are also available on request.
