VISO SUPPORTS TIM HORTON CHILDREN FOUNDATION AT THE ANNUAL BLACK TIE GALA

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- October 20th 2014

Toronto Canada- Friday October the 17th the Annual Black Tie event in honor of Tim Horton’s Children Foundation was held at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto.

This year’s theme “Denim and Diamonds” successfully entertained the guests with bluegrass music, line dancers and western style food. The guest speaker, a young female graduate from the Youth Leadership Program, spoke about her experience through the Tim Horton’s Children Foundation and subsequently the Carolee House Bursary Program. This program enabled her to get a University Education including a Masters in social work. Her personal account of summers spent at Tim Horton’s Camp and the growth and support she experienced, inspired the whole room. Many Tim Horton’s partner companies and suppliers gathered together to support the cause. Tzetzy Naydenova, the directing manager of VISO stated “We’re committed to our partners and support them in their efforts to contribute to the community and the next generation.”

Since the beginning of the Carolee House Bursary program in 2002, over $4,000,000 in bursaries have been awarded.

About the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation

The Tim Horton Children’s Foundation was established in 1974 by Ron Joyce, co-founder of the Tim Hortons chain, to honour Tim Horton’s love for children and his desire to help those less fortunate. The Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization committed to providing a fun filled camp environment for children from economically disadvantaged homes. Year-round, local children are selected from each of the communities in which a Tim Hortons store operates, giving over 15,000 children the opportunity to attend one of our camps.

A foundation camp experience provides programs that develop lifelong skills in children. When they return home from camp, they take with them a more positive attitude about their future and the confidence to achieve the goals they learned to set for themselves at camp.
