The Best Places to Eat Toronto 2015

The team at VISO has been looking forward to the Toronto Life “Top 20 Restaurants” edition 2015. The article is always a good read and a tease for the tummy! This year’s article is written by Mark Popo and includes the newest, and best places worth a visit. If you are a lover of food, like our team at VISO, then you should check it out.

The winners this year include Buca Yorkville, Dandylion, Yasu and others such as Flor De Sal, with its beautiful décor and seafood, and Nana for its unique Thai food.
Buca is located in Yorkville at the bottom of the Four Seasons hotel. The décor and the gourmet food are both magnificent. The signature dish is an Italian delicacy that all would devour: Ricotta Gnocchi served with robiola cheese, crumbled roasted chestnuts and shavings of Molisan white truffle. This restaurant has a bite to eat for everyone, and specializes in a variety of seafood. The restaurant features a “Catch of the Day” so you can order a different fresh fish daily. Need we also mention that we are the proud team who designed and built the lighting at Buca? For you curious souls out there, you can check out the project here. We’re extremely proud of the restaurant and the whole team can’t wait to try their delicacies, especially the selection of Italian wines!

Second on the list is Dandylion, located on Queen St. West and recognized for its Nordic Cuisine (for those not familiar with this term, it means Danish). The owner and head chef is Jay Carter who seems to be a wise individual with a lot of experience. He was inspired by Nordic trends and decided to open this gorgeous eatery. Mark Popo commented on his wide selection of appetizers and entrées but the one he enjoyed the most was a salad that consisted of musky ripe persimmon, sprouted lentils, baby spinach toped with some drops of almond oil.

Third up is Yasu, a tiny Sushi inn. For all sushi lovers, like us, this restaurant looks phenomenal. The chef, Yasuhisa Ouchi, is loves to serve the freshest array of seafood. He puts great thought into all dishes and every detail such as the temperature and texture of the rice to the freshness and diversity of the seafood. Yasu offers a wide collection of sushi that consists of seafood from all over the world including, Greece, Japan, even Sri Lanka. The restaurant has only 13 seats and only two seatings a night so make sure to make a reservation!
