Project Goals
The goal of the project is to bring the grandeur and the energy of the city inside the hotel walls. With theatrical and playful spaces, the Viceroy Palm Jumeirah radiates a chic sense of sophistication and glamour that perfectly reflects the vibrant city it is in.
Design Inspiration
Dubai city serves as the inspiration for the design of the hotel and the lighting. To reflect the desert environment, innovative materials in warm tones such as brass and spun metal are used. Large scale lamps and fixtures reflect the grand architecture and modernity of the city itself.
Challenge and Solution
A project of this size and scope poses many challenges in relation to lighting design and manufacturing. By drawing on extensive experience creating exceptional custom lighting solutions and with the ability to manufacture in its state-of-the-art production facility, VISO delivered a full custom hotel lighting solution for the Viceroy Palm Jumeirah Hotel.
The Viceroy’s custom hotel lighting features beautiful Dandelion chandeliers in the lobby area, giving the space an openness and natural beauty. Geometric glass statement chandeliers line the halls while custom globe pendant clusters hang in the common bar area.
VISO also design-engineered custom hotel lighting fixtures including bedside lamps and room-number wall sconces, as well as desk and floor lamps for the guestrooms. The restaurant in the hotel features large custom light pendants and floor lamps utilizing inventive materials and design that gives an edgy, industrial feel to the chic and inviting space.
VISO provided lighting for both the interior and exterior of the hotel, further establishing ourselves as a global player in the custom hotel lighting field.
Our Strategic Partner
Working closely with the design team at globally renowned design firm Yabu Pushelberg, VISO designed-engineered and manufactured numerous chandeliers, light pendants, wall sconces, and floor and table lamps that can be found throughout the hotel and around its grounds. Yabu’s design team outlined a strong vision for the design which VISO worked to match, in order to create a seamless and holistic outcome for this beautiful property.
